Why Should Kids Start Learning Spanish?--Secret Superpower!

How many of you like superhero movies or comics? I know I do! Even if you don't, I'm sure you know a child that does! Well, for a child, starting to learn another language is kind of like having a secret superpower! Here's why...


1. A whole new world opens up to them that people who only speak one language can't see--almost like having super X-Ray vision or being able to see REALLY far!!! When kid are young, they tend to think that the whole world talks, acts, and thinks exactly like them. Through learning another language, they can learn that that's not the case! They will be able to start learning that the world is huge and beautiful because we are all so different!


2. Research shows that learning a second language at a young age allows kids to learn it in a similar way to how they learned their first language. They can harness the amazing language learning powers of a baby, and use those to their advantage in a way that adults have long forgotten how to do! This means that they can learn quicker than even an adult 5 times their age!


3. They all of a sudden have the power to talk to people they never could before! This means they can make new friends, or even talk to people in another country that they were not born in!


4. They can have an even brighter future! Considering how connected the world is, people are always looking to hire those who can speak more than one language. It is hard to emphasize enough what a HUGE advantage this is! In superpower terms, this would be like the ability to shine a light right out of your hand that would light up a huge path!


5. Spanish actually is even MORE common in today's world than English, with approximately 442 million speakers compared to 378 million!
